It’s been a busy few months for the BKP and we are keen to update you! Since our last newsletter the
project has moved on to the construction of Kindergarten number 6, setup a permanent office in Bantul and
Amber has even appeared on local TV!!! Here’s some more info…..
Al-Fatah Kindergarten (kindergarten number 1): |

On Monday 9th October Al-Fatah Kindergarten in Imogiri was officially opened. As the first BKP kindergarten to
be completed we decided to make a real ‘do’ of it! The villagers of Singosaren made a tremendous effort,
organizing a wonderful programme of entertainment. Traditional dance and singing performances from the
children charmed the audience, whilst parents served up a feast fit for a sultan. Amber also joined in the fun
with a crowd pleasing Javanese speech! We were honored that all of Al-Fatah’s donors were able to attend. We’d
especially like to thank Petra Nemcova, celebrity supermodel, and Leilana Johnson who flew in from America.
Petra co-founded the Happy Hearts Fund after her ordeal in Thailand during the devastating 2004 Asian tsunami.
Their presence at the opening has helped raise awareness and the profile of BKP initiatives.
